Wedding – How to Book and Refund Policy

Complete the booking form below, and pay the booking fee of $250. This locks in your time and date. (I can also provide a PDF of the Booking Form)

Booking fee covers help in completing your Notice of Intended Marriage (NIM) and lodgement with Births Deaths and Marriages in NSW. This is a non-refundable booking fee and should accompany your booking form. A tax receipt will be issued on clearance of payment.

Completion of your Booking Form and payment of deposit secures your booking and guarantee your date and time.

Any tentative booking will lapse after 7 days should this Booking Form not be completed and lodged with the deposit.

Balance The balance of your account is due and payable 14 days prior to your wedding.

Refund Policy Cancellation by Couple In the event of Cancellation no later than 14 days prior to the event, any funds( except deposit) will be refunded to the couple in full. Within 14 days of the event a refund is at the discretion of the celebrant. Any out of pocket expenses would need to be deducted.

Cancellation by Celebrant In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend the event, 100% of funds refunded by the couple, including deposit. If I have an accident on the way to your wedding, I make contact with my network of celebrants would ensure someone would make sure your wedding went ahead. However, the celebrant who stands in would be paid the same amount, they would also need to see your passports or birth certificate and photo ID. That is why it is advisable to have a family member have these documents at your wedding. This has never happened thankfully.

Postponement Your Notice of Intended Marriage is valid for 18 months after which time it will lapse and you will be required to complete a new Notice of Intended Marriage. I usually try to remind you, without being a nuisance, but please let me know if your wedding will not go ahead, so I can make another booking. I don’t charge a postponement fee, so I really appreciate you keeping me in the loop.

Documentation/Legal Obligations

The ceremony will not take place unless all the required documents have been sighted and all the relevant documents signed within the legally required time The couple is to provide correct and accurate information regarding their identification and eligibility to marry. It is an offence to provide a false statement or documentation under the Commonwealth Marriage Act 1961, section 42(8) (b). A person guilty if an offence is liable to a heavy penalty.

The couple must provide a photocopy or electronic copy of Birth Certificates OR passports and Divorce or Death Certificates.

The couple must bring their passport or birth certificates and photo identification on their wedding day. (Perhaps this could be held by a family member.)

The ceremony will not proceed if either of the parties or their witnesses is not in a position to fully understand the legal obligations of the marriage ceremony

May the celebrant have permission to use photographs/videos of our ceremony in promotional activities, such as Facebook or Website YES / NO

Important notes:

Please note that being on time is absolutely essential.

If for any reason the bride or groom is more than 30 minutes late, and I have another wedding following, I reserve the right to leave your ceremony venue and proceed to the next wedding, returning to preform your ceremony after completion of that ceremony.

Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances that preclude me from performing your ceremony, another suitable Celebrant will be arranged to conduct your ceremony. Should this be required, you will be advised accordingly with as much notice as possible. I shall not be liable for any failure to perform your ceremony, or for any delay, due to accident, strikes, fires, explosions, floods, riots, pandemic restrictions by Government Authorities, lock-outs, injunctions, terrorist attacks or other circumstances which are totally beyond my control. Should an accident occur I would contact another celebrant to step in. They would need to see your original documents.

We understand the above terms and agree to be bound by them. – All information provided is correct. Should any of the details change we will notify the celebrant in writing.
